Sometimes your jeans are simply too tight. A button coming undone can be an annoying, completely innocent wardrobe malfunction, but visually, an open fly can immediately suggest something else. I loved the idea of painting a moment where the actual explanation could be incredibly mundane, while the viewer’s mind might take it somewhere completely different.
