Red Lipstick

Red lipstick has been associated with femininity, confidence, sexuality and seduction for generations. But it’s also quite literally just pigment on someone’s lips. This painting plays with how much meaning we can attach to something as simple as a colour, and whether that meaning comes from the person wearing it or the person looking at them.
